Talkin'Blues DVDs: I have had a lot of people ask me when I would make my shows available on DVD. To be honest, I never planned to release the entire series on DVD - however, I am hoping to release a compilation DVD containing some of my favourite moments from the series. This is still in the works. In the mean time, I am releasing a few different DVD projects over the next little while to see if there's a market for this type of work. These project will be available through the internet and select stores for now while we evaluate how far we go with these things. |

Mel Brown- The DVD: The Mel Brown DVD was shot over a three year period while Mel recorded his latest CD, "Blues...A Beautiful Thing". However, this is not a DVD documenting the studio sessions from his latest CD - rather, it is a glimpse into the life and times of Mel Brown, the musician and the man. Songs include: "Mean Old World" "Take Your Time" "Headed South" with Snooky Pryor "Downtown" "Laura Marie" with Fruteland Jackson "Summer Magic" with The Homewreckers "Red Cross Store" "Shake Your Boogie" with Snooky Pryor Total Time: 105 minutes This CD is currently available from Electro-Fi Records at www.electrofi.com and at Mel Brown shows. Jack de Keyzer - Silver Blues DVD: The first time I met Jack, it was backstage at the Port Credit Southside Shuffle. I introduced myself to him and asked if I could get a short interview with him for the "Talkin'Blues" project. He graciously accepted and the seeds of a friendship was planted. A number of months later, on the way home from a "Blues on the East Side" Benefit concert, Jack offered me his song, "Deal Me In" as the theme for my series. I have probably heard that tune over a thousand times now...well, at least 30 seconds of that tune...and it is forever associated to my "talkin'blues" project. I have been fortunate enough to witness Jack perform brilliantly on stage and in studio. He is the consummate professional and one of the most brilliant guitar players I know. The Silver Blues DVD was born out of a shoot done during the recording of Jack's "Silver Blues" CD. However, it is not a simply a concert DVD from that night. I have also included the footage I shot in the studio during the making of his Juno winning CD, "Six String Lover" and a song from the Distillery Blues Festival. Interspersed between the music is an interview I conducted with Jack for this project. Jack is truly a special person and I feel very lucky to have had the chance to work with him on this project.
